Rosamund Pike
Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of a classically trained violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and a opera singer father, Julian Pike. Her parents worked hard and she travelled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike was a student at Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent following being noticed. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. While her film debut was a large-budget action film but the film follow-up was mainly in smaller, independent films, including Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she won the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards), and Pride & Prejudice (2005), as one of the Bennet daughters.
