Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi was born on September 1, 1970, in Chennai, India. Her parents divorced at the age of two. Her mother fled India to avoid the stigma of divorce in India and emigrated to the United States. Lakshmi was a part of her grandparents from Chennai for two years before joining her mother in the United States. Her parents divorced, and she has two younger siblings. Lakshmi is a descendant of the Hindu goddess of prosperity and wealth She grew up in New York City and Los Angeles. She went to India each year for a few months to visit her family. Padma Lakshmi discovered acting was something she enjoyed in 1999. Her first film role was in Figlio di Sandokan (an Italian pirate film). Then she was cast in "Caraibi" (Pirates: Blood Brothers), which is a period drama about 17th century pirates. In 2001, she was a comedy supporting role as the disco singer in  the film 'Glitter.' Padma has a child, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell along with Adam Dell. Adam Dell is a venture capitalist. Krishna was born in February of 2010 on 20 Feb 2010. She also had a relationship with Teddy Forstmann (ex-chairman, CEO of IMG). Lakshmi and American venture capitalist Adam Dell have a daughter, Krishna. Lakshmi has since revealed that the father of the child was Dell, although she initially kept the identity of Dell a secret. The daughter of Dell, she said, "Everything's better with her around." "Anything from the start of the day until the end. I am not interested in anything other than her.
