2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps, better known by his professional name 2 Chainz, is a well-known American rapper and hip hop artist. A native of Georgia He started his career in music when he formed the hip-hop duo Playaz Circle, along with an old high school buddy. Their first album, titled "Supply and Demand" was an unremarkable success. Epps later released 'Based on the T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It became a massive success, debuting at the top of the charts at one on the US Billboard 200. Within its first week, it was sold out in 147,000 copies! Ever since the success of the album, there's been no looking back for him and he rose to become one of the top rappers in the US. He's been nominated to six Grammy Awards so far. One of them was awarded to him for his song "No Problem". He kindled controversy in 2013 when being detained on a flight departing from the Los Angeles International Airport as his luggage included promethazine and marijuana. But, his experiences in the legal system haven't impacted his popularity. His fourth and most recent studio album, titled "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music", came out in June 2017. Based on the T.R.U. Story', which was the first studio album by 2 Chainz, can be considered to be his first major work, as well as his most successful one. The album reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200. It also sold 147,000 copies in just a week. The album ultimately sold 623,000 copies throughout the course of the year. The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album' at the 55th Grammy Awards. The reviews were not all positive. 2 Chainz married Kesha Warren in 2013. The couple has three children, Heaven and Harmony. He has had a long and prosperous career, but is known for his penchant for getting into legal trouble. Multiple times he has been detained for possession of drugs.
