Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actress and singer with Irish origin. The fiery, passionate roles she played in a number of American films were well-loved by the beautiful green-eyed beauty sporting flame-colored hair and eyes. Her beauty and elegance were awe-inspiring. She was also referred to as the 'Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her portrayals onscreen reflect her brave, strong spirit. She was determined to be recognized and survival in the male-dominated culture. She often referred to herself as the "tough Irish lass" who did not compromise her respect or reputation to get the roles she deserved through merit. In all her years in the field of film she was always vocal against injustice and improper treatment against female actors. For this, she gained numerous followers. The autobiography of her, 'Tis herself released in 2004, gave an honest and authentic description of her life experiences including her struggle to climb the ladder of success. She was an adventurous lady who did not hesitate to making her own mistakes. She appeared as an actress in more than 60 films in the past and was a pillar of international recognition. After her departure from Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. Blair was a former brigadier and chief pilot. He was also an early pioneer in transatlantic aviation. O'Hara went on to retire a few years after their marriage. Blair, however, was killed in a tragic crash on a plane in the year 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. In the same year she was diagnosed with uterine carcinoma and required urgent surgery. She was successful in recovering. She suffered from six heart attacks, short-term memory loss as well as diabetes type 2 in the subsequent years. O'Hara, who was 95, peacefully died in Boise on October 24, 2015.
