Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television host in America as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers the basics of cooking that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, along with the natural landscape. Burrell was born within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of American student. I enjoyed every moment." It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, chef Burrell lived in Italy for one year taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. While in Italy she gained a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It will have a significant impact on the way she approaches her cuisine. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. She also is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she raises awareness about young diabetics. She frequently travels around the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne has said during her career in the kitchen she is incredibly fortunate to be able to share what's essential to her.
